Kia Ora!
I'm Joan Costello, Te reo Māori teacher and Director of Te Reo Tūhono Limited.
For over 30 years, I have been teaching te reo Māori to individuals and organisations, to ignite their confidence, speaking ability and cultural understanding. This includes 13 years as the in-house Kaiako/Māori Language Teacher at Te Papa Tongarewa.
I hold a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning Kura Kaupapa Māori from Massey University. I am also a qualified Te Ataarangi Kaiako (teacher).
What I offer
I am based in Wellington, but offer online courses across the motu.
My classes are bespoke and meet the needs of businesses, schools, communities and their people. Classes can be tailored for specific contexts.
I teach classes at all levels and have classes full of laughter and enjoyment.
I also coach and guide CEOs and other leaders to speak te reo Māori with authenticity and confidence.
