Kia Ora!

ko Joan Costello ahau.

I'm Joan Costello, Māori Language Teacher and Director of Te Reo Tūhono Ltd.

For 32 years I have been teaching te reo Māori to individuals and organisations, to ignite their confidence, speaking ability and cultural understanding. This includes 13 years as the in-house Kaiako/Māori Language Teacher at Te Papa Tongarewa. (Click here to see a list of my clients below.)

I hold a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning Kura Kaupapa Māori from Massey University. I am also a qualified Te Ataarangi Kaiako (teacher).

What I offer

Te Reo Tūhono is based in Wellington but offers online courses across the motu.

My classes are bespoke and meet the needs of the business and its people. Classes can be tailored for specific business contexts.

I teach classes at all levels in organisations and have classes full of laughter and enjoyment.

I also coach and guide CEOs and other leaders to speak te reo Māori with authenticity and confidence.
